Factory

One of our current developments -

This year we are installing and commissioning our own in house Clean Room ISO 6 facility to enable us to offer a sterile range of products to our medical customers.
We already work to very high standards of hygiene and housekeeping and this new project will allow us to offer a more complete range of services to our existing customers who will be able to source many products from one quality assured supplier.
"This is a logical extension of our sachet and kit packaging operations and we already have many customers who will benefit from having this integrated service. We are working closely with our Clean Room Technology consultants to review our procedures, staff training and monitoring processes to ensure that we continue to offer the highest possible standards" Roderick Davidson—Managing Director.

Now

Dyecor is a packaging company that designs, manufactures and sells medical packaging, sachet products and absorbent packaging. We have three main divisions; medical packaging, sachet manufacture and paper conversion.

Dyecor places a huge emphasis on research and development, continuing to expand its product offering within the markets that it operates. Over the years Dyecor has licensed technology to J. R. Crompton, Pilkington Bros PLC, Morgan Crucible, Pactiv, Sealed Air Corporation and Sonoco Absorbent Technology.

We have a staff of 30 people and operate from our 22,000 sq.ft factory premises in Hereford and our research facility in Hampshire, UK. Dyecor is committed to manufacturing product to the highest quality standards and in providing excellent customer care and we have achieved the BS EN ISO 9001:2008 standard across all areas of the company.

We are always working with our customers and supply chain partners to develop market leading solutions to absorbent packaging problems. We take our environmental and sustainability responsibilities seriously and when approaching a new design challenge it is always our aim to maximise resource efficiency and minimize our impact by continual development of processes and product review.

History
Dyecor was established in 1985 and formed part of the Davidson group of companies which has a strong history of developing innovative technologies protected by intellectual property rights. Many of these innovations were subsequently licensed or IPR rights sold across the world. Through a strong commitment to reinvestment Dyecor has continued to grow the absorbency and conversion business throughout this period.

In 1994 Dyecor sold a new technology and food absorbency business to Sealed Air Corporation and focused resources on continuing to expand the medical packaging range. With strong growth in medical and general absorbency, Dyecor had the opportunity to sell the food and air freshener absorbency part of the business in 2004 to GTM Mandl Group. This allowed us to re-double our efforts in meeting the challenges faced by legislative changes for diagnostic transport.

Driven by customer demand for fully compliant packaging that was easy to use, light and non bulky to minimise postal costs, we introduced the Medicor range of postal tubes, which allowed single vials specimens of all sizes to travel safely through the postal system and meet all of the regulatory specifications. This product is still available from our medical range. Many customers wanted to be able to transport multiple vials or slides in one transporter. Dyecor responded to this challenge with the introduction of the Thermacor range in 2007, which carries many different types of primary vial or container in many, many different configurations to suit the laboratory system and particular test type which is being carried out.

During the last six years, we have continued to develop our sachet manufacturing capability, investing in the latest print and sachet manufacturing technology. Starting with card and tissue sachet wipes, this division has grown to include a wide range of non-food sachets incorporating gels, creams, pastes, tissues and many other liquids. This division of the business is the perfect compliment to the medical division, offering a range of IPA wipes, anti-bactericidal sachets and swab sachets. It means that many of our customers can source all of their kit components from one supplier and have the kits assembled and delivered ready to use. We also supply custom design sachets to the cosmetic, hygiene and hospitality industries throughout Europe. Last year we launched our Sachet Solutions website to offer a range of cleaning sachet packs direct to the end user in small quantities.

We are always looking to improve upon existing alternatives and our latest developments include Thermacool, which will eliminate in the need for Dry Ice in 72 hour temperature controlled transport and UN 3373, taking packaging protection to a higher level.
